Cobra Darkspeed Hybrid

The Cobra Darkspeed fairway woods and hybrids use an L-shaped face that wraps around the front of the sole combined with an internal weight bar that’s suspended like a bridge low and forward in the head to create the ideal blend of high launch and low spin with more speed all across the face. The fairway woods include three models: There’s the oversized Max for low-profile forgiveness, the X for broad appeal with low spin and high launch, and the compact LS with a titanium body and face along with heavy tungsten weighting for fast speed with ultra-low spin.

Description

We get that making a hybrid with a trampoline face is desirable, but all that ball speed without the ability to launch the ball isn’t much use. The ideal hybrid needs its internal weight to be low to boost that launch angle. Darkspeed uses an ingenious internal bridge-like weight bar low and close to the face to make it easier to launch shots high. At the same time, this structure allows the thin face to wrap around the leading edge for maximum ball speed.

The internal bridge-like weight bar facilitates higher launch with less spin.
A thin, high-strength steel face insert wraps under the leading edge to create a flexible region lower on the face where most impacts occur.
The Single Length version (7-iron length) features an even lower CG and higher stability through its heavier head.
